The Manitoba RCMP has released more information on why their dive team has been brought in to join the manhunt for two teenage murder suspects.

The Manitoba RCMP says they will be searching areas around the Nelson River after locating a damaged aluminum boat.

The potential development in the search for the two fugitives was reported in an online post by RCMP Sunday.

On Friday afternoon, Manitoba RCMP officers located a damaged aluminum boat that they believe could indicate an area of interest in the search for two teenage fugitives.

The boat, found in the course of the search for Kam McLeod and Bryer Schmegelsky, was found during an RCMP aerial search by helicopter.

RCMP Underwater Recovery Team (URT) is expected to conduct a thorough search of the area today.
