Three people are facing a combined 16 charges after an armed robbery in Manitoba's Parkland Region earlier this week.

On December 12, 2020, at approximately 5:40 pm, Winnipegosis RCMP and Dauphin RCMP responded to an armed robbery at a business located on 1st Avenue, in Pine River.

Two males wearing masks entered the business carrying a rifle and demanded money, cigarettes and liquor. The males then fled on an all-terrain vehicle. The employee relayed this information to 911 and officers set up roadblocks in the area.

RCMP located the ATV on Highway 20 and Highway 272 near Camperville. A traffic stop was initiated, however, the ATV fled into a nearby field. With the assistance of Police Dog Services, three males were arrested, hiding in the area. 

The firearm and stolen items were recovered.

A 33-year-old man from Dauphin is facing nine charges including armed robbery and three counts of fail to comply. A 16-year-old male from Pine Creek First Nation is facing six charges including weapons possession contrary to order and two counts of fail to comply.  A 20-year-old male, of Pine Creek First Nation, will be facing a charge of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime.

RCMP continue to investigate. Pine River is approximately 310 km northwest of Winnipeg.
