Portage la Prairie RCMP are asking for the public's assistance in locating a missing teenager.

The 13-year-old girl was last seen leaving a home on 11th Street Northwest in Portage shortly after 10 p.m. last Thursday. She was seen again a couple of hours later, shortly after midnight, but has not been seen or heard from since.

Officers patrolled the community, searching for the teen, but came out empty-handed.

Mounties say she has connections to the Sandy Bay First Nation, and they have been in contact with the Manitoba First Nations Police Service, who police the community.

She is described as 5’6” tall, approximately 125 pounds with shoulder-length hair that is black on top with blue ends. She was last seen wearing pink shorts with either, purple Crocs or black Converse shoes, and a Sonic t-shirt.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Portage la Prairie RCMP at 204-857-4445 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-8477.
