Two males are facing charges after RCMP conducted a traffic stop on May 17, 2024.

At approximately 3 p.m., RCMP conducted a traffic stop on Thompson Drive South in Thompson. 

Through the investigation of the vehicle and the two occupants, officers found and seized a loaded handgun with an extended magazine that the passenger had in his waistband. Officers also found and seized 113 grams of cocaine, approximately $10,000.00 in cash and drug paraphernalia.

The 69-year-old driver from Thomspn is now facing a charge of possession for the purpose of trafficking and has been released from custody with a court date coming up. 

A 27-year-old male passenger from Windsor, Ont. now faces a long list of over ten charges including possession for the purpose of trafficking, carrying a concealed weapon, possession of property obtained by crime and possession of a weapon obtained by crime.

He was remanded into custody.
