A film focusing on the story of the family behind five-time Grammy Award-winning artists for King & Country and Rebecca St. James will hit the big screen this spring.

"This is a film about our Mum and motherhood, family and miracles, sacrifice and faith… A film for YOU…It’s been a pretty outrageous undertaking, but it’s a story we’re incredibly proud of, and we can’t wait to share it with you," said for King & Country in an earlier social media post.

Based on their family's story, Unsung Hero focuses on Helen Smallbone’s faith and how it stands against all odds and inspires her husband and children to hold onto theirs.

"I’ve told our family’s story from the stage at nearly every concert we’ve ever done. As many of you may know, our dad was a concert promoter in Australia, & on one particular tour, things didn’t go very well & we lost everything we had. He got a job offer in Nashville, & thought it’d be a good idea to bring his six kids & his wife (who was pregnant at the time) to America, then shortly afterwards actually lost that job," said for King and Country in a post on Facebook. "It dawned on us about 4 years ago that this story of immigrating from Australia to America & all the adventures & challenges we’ve walked through in between was a story that needed to be told- so we made a movie."

The film stars Joel Smallbone, who plays his father, while his brother Ben Smallbone directed it. The film will also star Daisy Betts, Kirrilee Berger, Jonathan Jackson, Lucas Black, Candace Cameron Bure, Terry O'Quinn, and Hillary Scott.

Unsung Hero will hit theatres nationwide on April 26, 2024.
