It's time for the clocks to spring forward again in Manitoba.

On Mar. 14, Manitobans will lose their annual hour of sleep.

The sacrifice to sleep allows for residents in the province to experience extra daylight during waking hours as spring nears.

The official change takes place at 2 a.m., at which point clocks need to be set ahead to 3 a.m.

Daylight saving begins the second Sunday in March and continues until the first Sunday in November, according to the Official Time Act.

While there have been attempts to end daylight saving time, they have not been successful in Manitoba.

2020 was the last year Yukon residents participated in the bi-annual time after their government decided to do away with the practiec. Most of Saskatchewan remains on standard time year-round.
