The beloved Forks Riverwalk is set to open this weekend!

Larissa Peck, the marketing and communications coordinator for the Forks in Winnipeg says, "The forks section of the Riverwalk will open by this weekend."

"We have been waiting for the flood waters to recede," says Peck, "we just work diligently to clean it up as the water goes down." The section that the forks opens and maintains is between the CN mainline bridge and the forks historic rail bridge and that is what will be opening this weekend.

This year the Riverwalk was underwater for a few days longer than last year but not as long as the year before that.

The walks most loved features are the view of the city, the alternate bike route it provides and the availability of dock as access to the river.

Another new exciting feature at the forks that just opened for the season is the patio. Now you can enjoy sitting out in the sun with service from The Common on the patio at the forks.
