Worldwide, 60 men lose their lives to suicide every hour. One Winnipegger is hoping to bring awareness to the cause through running and prayer.

Grant Trueman, is a 22-year-old Christian running 60 kilometres throughout November in honour of the lives lost to suicide and to support those struggling with mental health. "It was an instant conviction for me. Usually, I have to sit and pray about things for quite a bit of time but for this, I instantly knew this was something that I wanted to do," Trueman says.

For Trueman this is personal. He says, "for my own struggles with anxiety and depression, I've just found that running is what really helped me manage my stress and just worked as a way to have alone time with God. It really clears my head."

"Every kilometre I run this month they are going to be on my mind and I will be praying for them."

"I feel like it's my own personal relationship with God that has really helped me through the worst of my times. I believe that God provides us with a way out and a way to deal with anything that we are burdened with.

He hopes throughout this month those who do not have the support and community they need will be uplifted. "I have a great family, God's really blessed me and I've been able to deal with a lot of my issues. I just feel like if I can be a way out for somebody that would be really great.

"If anyone is out there struggling and feeling alone, I just want them to know I'm thinking of them. Every kilometre I run this month they are going to be on my mind and I will be praying for them.
