Two men are dead following an early morning collision on the Yellowhead Highway.

The Manitoba RCMP says in a release that officers from the Spruce Plains Detachment were called just before 5 a.m. to a two-vehicle collision approximately 21 kilometres east of Neepawa.

Officers arrived on scene to find two pickup trucks had collided head-on, with one remaining on the highway and the other having entered the ditch, the release says.

Both male drivers and lone occupants, a 44-year-old from Gladstone and a 50-year-old from the Sandy Bay First Nation, were pronounced deceased on scene.

Spruce Plains RCMP continue to investigate.
