A line of thunderstorms moving through southern Manitoba has caused Environment Canada to issue several severe thunderstorm watches and warnings Monday morning.

From Environment Canada:

At 5:16 a.m. CDT, Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a cluster of severe thunderstorms capable of producing very strong wind gusts, up to nickel size hail and heavy rain.

A cluster of severe thunderstorms is currently located from east of Otter Lake to south of Eden. These storms are moving very slowly to the southeast.

Take cover immediately, if threatening weather approaches. Large hail can damage property and cause injury. Intense lightning is likely with any thunderstorm that develops. Lightning kills and injures Canadians every year. Remember, when thunder roars, go indoors!

Severe thunderstorm warnings are issued when imminent or occurring thunderstorms are likely to produce or are producing one or more of the following: large hail, damaging winds, torrential rainfall.
