All tornado watches have ended as of 7:30 p.m. in Manitoba, however, there is still the potential for severe weather Sunday evening throughout southern Manitoba.

Severe thunderstorm watch

As of 11:10 p.m. the City of Winnipeg remains under a severe thunderstorm watch. Several other areas are also under a watch.

Conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms this evening. These thunderstorms will have the potential to produce hail to the size of golf balls and wind gusts in excess of 100 km/h.

Thunderstorms are likely to last well into the evening hours before moving into Ontario.

Severe thunderstorm warnings

Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a line of severe thunderstorms capable of producing golf ball-sized hail, wind gusts in excess of 100 km/h, and rainfall in excess of 100 mm.

At 11:17 PM CDT Doppler RADAR indicated that this line of severe thunderstorms stretched from Vita to Kenora and was moving eastward.
