It took less than 20 seconds for the wind to blow a shed off its foundation Tuesday afternoon.

A farm shed located north of Elie was lifted off its foundation today because of high winds.

Gary and Jodi Friesen were working outside when they saw a huge gust of wind pick up dust. Gary ran to their main shed to close the door, hoping to keep the dust out.

By the time he made it to the second shed, the back wall of the shed had blown off, held on by a single light conduit.

"He didn't even hear it," said Jodi Friesen, owner of the farm along with her husband Gary.

The front wall was dented, while one of the side walls had lifted up off its concrete foundation.

They quickly got all their equipment out of the shed. None of it was damaged, but the shed may be beyond repair.

"I don't know if it will last the night."

Environment Canada was predicting wind gusts up to 70 km/hr in the area. A semi-trailer was also tipped over, while a pole and multiple signs inside Winnipeg fell down because of the high winds.

Winds are expected to die off Tuesday night.
