Radio and TV personalities left a mess of icing and cooking crumbs at Polo Park today.

This week is Smile Cookie week at Tim Hortons in support of the Children's Rehabilitation Foundation (CRF) in Winnipeg.

CRF is an outpatient facility that proved services and therapy for children and youth with a range of varying physical abilities.

Adell Gauthier, Fund Development Coordinator for CRF says they give life-changing programs, services and equipment like lightweight wheelchairs to these children.

For 23 years, Tim Hortons has helped raise funds for different organizations. In 2018, $7.8 million was raised nationwide through the Smile Cookie campaign.

Gauthier says this week is incredibly important for the CRF: "For us, it is hard to put into words the impact that it has.

"We do not receive any government funding. ... The funds from one week of Smile Cookie Weeks is 10 per cent of our operating budget. It's massive."

In less than a minute, contestants from today had to decorate Tim Hortons cookies that would later be judged by youth ambassador Alyssa - who recently joined the Canadian National sledge hockey team.

"We've had more media teams than ever before," says Gauthier, "We are overjoyed that so many people chose to spend their morning with us."

The full dollar from every Smile Cookie sold supports CRF until September 22.
