On September 22, 2023, around 11:30 p.m., the Winnipeg Police Service was flagged down near the intersection of Carlton Street and Portage Avenue. A 14-year-old male youth had fallen victim to a stabbing, leaving him with severe upper-body injuries.

Swiftly responding to the call, Central Division General Patrol officers provided the victim with necessary emergency medical care, including the application of chest seals and a tourniquet, stabilizing the young victim's condition before he was rushed to the hospital. The resilient teenager, initially in critical condition, has since undergone surgery and is now in stable condition.

The suspects responsible for the act managed to flee the scene. As a result, the Major Crimes Unit has taken over the investigation.

In the absence of arrests, the Winnipeg Police Service is seeking assistance from the public.
