A man is in hospital in critical condition after being struck by a vehicle in a residential area on Saturday evening.

The Winnipeg Police Service says in a release that emergency crews were called to the 100 block of Berry Hill Road around 7 p.m. for a collision involving a pedestrian and a vehicle.

The pedestrian, an adult male, was transported to a hospital in critical condition by the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service and STARS Air Ambulance.

Police say that the adult male driver of the vehicle remained on the scene and met with officers.

The investigation is continuing by members of the Traffic Division. Anyone with information regarding the matter or that may have witnessed the collision is asked to contact investigators at 204-986-7085.

Berry Road is in the South Pointe West neighbourhood, just north of the South Perimeter Highway and west of Kenaston Blvd.
