Severe thunderstorm watches are being issued across western Manitoba as a system moves towards us.

A severe thunderstorm watch is out for western Manitoba, including the Portage la Prairie-Headingley-Brunkild-Carman.

Conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that may be capable of producing strong wind gusts, large hail and heavy rain.

This cold front is tracking eastward from Saskatchewan and should trigger thunderstorms late this afternoon and into the evening.
