A busy stretch of Winnipeg roadway will be closed yet again for Wednesday's morning rush hour due to broken down equipment.
A construction company had closed Stradbrook Avenue between Donald Street and Harkness Avenue on Monday. The closure was to allow a crane to work on a building and was to last until 5 a.m. Tuesday.
However, the City of Winnipeg's Traffic Management Centre says the crane was not able to clear the roadway.
The TMC says that mechanical and technical issues meant the crane was unable to clear the roadway.
Stradbrook was supposed to then open at 3 p.m. on Tuesday.
However, the TMC says the company still has not been able to move the crane.
Commuters should expect heavier volumes, especially on the Midtown Bridge as well as Broadway, as a result.
