An 83-year-old Winnipeg man was found dead in his apartment in August and this week Winnipeg Police arrested a man with second-degree murder charges. 

On August 16, 2022, at approximately 3:00 p.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service responded to the 600 block of Cathedral Avenue for a report of a suspicious death.

Upon arrival, officers located a deceased adult male inside a residence. His death was believed to be a homicide.

The victim was identified as Pajo “Paul” Radocaj, an 83-year-old male from Winnipeg.

On December 6, 2022, members of the Homicide Unit arrested and charged a 60-year-old male Roman Demczysak, of Winnipeg, with Second Degree Murder, and he is detained in custody. 

The two were not believed to have previously known each other but met through acquaintances when the victim was assaulted.
