Everything is back to normal after emergency personnel responded to what they called a "suspicious incident" on Wednesday afternoon in the area of Pembina Highway and Warsaw Avenue.

Police were called to a car dealership in the area late Wednesday morning. Const. Rob Carver of the Winnipeg Police Service says that packages that appeared to be "incendiary devices associated with some vehicles" were found near a vehicle's gas tank. Carver couldn't say if the devices were real or not.

"I can tell you that it looked suspicious, which is why we came to a suspicious call," Carver says. "Our investigation led us to the conclusion that we needed to get a lot of resources here to make sure everyone is safe."

The Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service also responded to the call along with the WPS bomb technicians.

The area was cleared by 2 p.m.
