Winnipeg is inviting cyclists to take advantage of the Sunday/holiday cycling routes located around the city.

Starting on today, May 21, the city's Sunday/holiday bicycle routes will be in effect. Four streets in Winnipeg have been designated as bicycle routes:

  • Lyndale Drive from Cromwell Street to Gauvin Street
  • Scotia Street from Anderson Avenue to Armstrong Avenue
  • Wellington Crescent from Academy Road to Guelph Street
  • Wolseley Avenue from Raglan Road to Maryland Street

These Sunday/holiday bike routes are in place from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on all Monday's and holidays. Motor vehicle traffic can travel no further than one block. Signs are posted to notify both cyclists and motorists.

The City of Winnipeg also wants to remind cyclists that the roads are not completely closed and to still watch out for vehicle traffic.
