Scott McDonald's first year as the Chair of the Teddy Bear Picnic Volunteer Committee is turning out to be an electric experience.

Each year, the Children's Hospital Foundation and their large team of volunteers host the Teddy Bear Picnic. While this year's picnic will not take place at Assiniboine Park, it will be taking place virtually.

"It should be lots of fun," McDonald says. "Everyone is really excited to partake in this event."

pes that families will enjoy participating in the tradition from home.

"It is going to be something different. I think we will get a lot more involvement from children and their families across the great province of Manitoba and throughout Canada as well."

Many children may have been looking forward to the day in the park, but McDonald says they have taken care to find activities everyone can enjoy.

"Families and children can tune in throughout the day as they please and pick what they want to partake in."

Activities such as crafting and dance classes are all part of the planned fun. McDonald says that they are also seeing their 50/50 draw gather attention by the parents.

Starting at 9:00 a.m, McDonald wants kids to have their favourite stuffed animal handy for activities. He says he is most excited about the photo scavenger hunt.

"I am looking forward to seeing some great pictures with the children and their animals. I am really looking forward to seeing how that challenge unfolds."

Participants can follow along on Sunday on the Children Hospital Foundation's Facebook page.
