Students are going into their exams this week with a lot less stress thanks to some furry friends at one Manitoba school.

Providence University College students are getting a break from studying, and put at ease as they enter into exams thanks to therapy dogs on campus.

Darcy Friesen, Community Life Coordinator at Providence University College said that the response has been extremely positive with staff and faculty members. The animal counselling program is in its sixth year.

The last four years breeder Heidi Dreidger from Great Plains Labradoodles out of Grunthal has been providing Labradoodles and Labradors for the animal counselling program.

Friesen said that when students walk into their exams, they have to walk right by the dogs. The students gasp in excitement and it gives them the motivation to go in and write their exams and come back to play with the dogs when they're done.
