Manitoba Hydro crews are scrambling to deal with dozens of power outages affecting thousands of people in south central Manitoba.

The provincial utility company says over 6,000 customers are without power as a result of ice building up on lines.

The outages are "isolated" incidents according to a post on Hydro's social media accounts.

"Crews [are] working as quickly and safely as possible," they write in the post.

The post also asks motorists to be mindful of the crews working and to use caution around them. "Remember: they're on the same roads/highways you are. Please keep an eye out for crews working and slow down if you need to pass."
