The Manitoba RCMP says they responded to three vehicle collisions that resulted in three fatalities over a 24-hour period this past weekend.

The first collision occurred in the early morning hours of August 16. Police received a report at 4:05 a.m. of a collision involving a pedestrian in the westbound lanes on Highway 1, west of Richer.

Police say a 46-year-old male, from Steinbach was walking on Highway 1 when he was struck by a semi travelling westbound. The 46-year-old male was pronounced deceased on scene.

Around 4:30 in the afternoon Falcon Lake RCMP were called to a multi-vehicle collision on Highway 1, two kilometres west of the Falcon Lake exit.

Officers believe a vehicle, being driven by a 20-year-old male from Prince George, B.C., was travelling eastbound on Highway 1 when his vehicle veered into the oncoming lane of traffic after negotiating a curve. The vehicle then struck a pickup truck before colliding with a westbound semi.

The 20-year-old male was pronounced deceased on scene. No other injuries were reported.

Then at 1 a.m. Monday, August 17, Ste. Rose RCMP responded to a report of a single-vehicle rollover on the Crane River First Nation.

Officers believe a vehicle, being driven by a 36-year-old male from Brandon, failed to negotiate a turn, left the roadway and rolled. The 36-year-old was pronounced deceased on scene.

Manitoba RCMP, along with Forensic Collision Reconstructionists, continues to investigate all three of the fatal collisions.
