A 44-year-old man is in custody following a traffic stop this week in Portage la Prairie that led to a large seizure of drugs. 

Police say on Tuesday, officers from the Portage la Prairie RCMP General Investigation Section conducted a traffic stop with a vehicle on Fisher Avenue East in Portage la Prairie. 

The driver refused to identify himself and was arrested. 

Officers searched his vehicle and located a large quantity of cash and approximately one kilogram of suspected methamphetamine and cocaine.

After the driver was arrested, officers were able to identify him and discover that he had an outstanding warrant. 

44-year-old Bjarne Roussin has been charged with two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of property obtained by crime and obstructing a peace officer. 

He remains in custody.
