All rail cars have been returned to the track and all lanes are now open to traffic following a train derailment early Friday afternoon.

Earlier: The derailment occurred early Friday afternoon on the CN Rail overpass above Lagimodiere.

CN Police are currently on the scene blocking northbound traffic at Maginot Street.

Southbound Lagimodiere may be closing down as well.

As a result of the closures, CHVN listeners are reporting major traffic delays in the area, including Marion Street, Dawson Road, and Elizabeth Road.

In a statement to CHVN Jonathan Abecassis from CN Rail says that 12 empty grain cars came off the tracks "in various positions."

Abecassis says, "there are no dangerous goods, fires or injuries involved at this time.

"CN apologizes for the inconvenience caused by this incident and would also like to thank emergency personnel and first responders who are present at the scene."
