Trek, a program run by Multiply is raising up preachers, leaders and church planters in Winnipeg.

Lloyd and Carol Letkeman are the two are Mission Mobilizers for Central Canada and work with both the Trek and Soar programs in Winnipeg.

This year's Trek program started recently in Winnipeg. Trek is an eight-month program starting with two months of orientation in Winnipeg.

After these two months, there are internship assignments in all of the world. This year Trekkers are going to, Thailand, Winnipeg, Alberta, and Japan!

They will be working with local churches, church plants, and innercity churches in these countries and learning from the leadership teams there.

On the last week of the program, the trekkers focus in on what their goals will be in the ministries they go on to become apart of after the program.

This past week some of the students started taking their training to the streets.

A couple of the more introverted students got out of their comfort zones and approach some women coming out of a building to chat!

It turns out these women were leaving a 12 step program they were involved in and were ready to hear about the love of Jesus.

The trekkers ended up "Just sharing the really simple gospel story and they were like yeah I want in on this," said Loyd Letkeman. The two women came to Christ through the conversation and were connected to a Winnipeg church.

SOAR, a popular spring break, mission-focused program in Winnipeg's innercity allows high schoolers to get to know and love their city.

The Letkeman's are now working on laying the groundwork for other programs to connect youth with their city. Lloyd said, "eventually we would like to do something a little larger like a SOAR program so we can gather them together on mass."

The Trekkers and volunteers with Multiply have begun to gather together to make this vision a reality.
