Another case of COVID-19 is being confirmed within the Southern Health region.

Dr. Brent Roussin, Chief Provincial Public Health Officer, says the most recent case was found in a man in his 40s and is related to travel. The man is a truck driver.

The Province is sharing that there are currently 14 lab-confirmed positive and probable positive active COVID-19 cases.

Over the weekend, 1,951 laboratory tests were performed from Friday to Sunday, bringing the total number of tests to 58,221.

In Manitoba, there are 314, both positive and probable positive, cases of COVID-19 with more than a dozen of those currently active.

There are currently no individuals in the hospital with COVID-19 and 293 people have recovered from the virus.

The total number of COVID-19 related deaths remains at seven.

While COVID-19 activity remains very low in the province, personal care homes (PCH) will soon begin permitting limited indoor visits for designated visitors. The indoor visits, to be approved by individual PCH care teams, will enable each resident to identify a short list of individuals who may visit during allotted times.

These scheduled visits will be a limited supplement to outdoor and virtual visits, which will continue, and are not a return to normal. Visits must be scheduled, and visitors will be screened upon arrival for symptoms and history of travel or exposure to COVID-19. Visitors must maintain physical distancing throughout their visit. Individuals will also be requested to bring and wear a non-medical mask for the duration of their time inside the facility.
