Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to a call on Wednesday night of a fire at a two-storey townhouse in the 0-100 block of Tyndall Avenue. 

At 11:26 p.m., crews found smoke coming from the building upon arrival and launched a fire attack using water and foam to extinguish the blaze. It was declared under control less than 30 minutes later at 11:52 p.m. 

 While some residents were able to self-evacuate before crews arrived, others were helped out by firefighters. Four people were assessed by paramedics on scene. Two were transferred to hospital, one in stable condition and the other in unstable condition. 

The City of Winnipeg’s Emergency Social Services team was deployed to assist displaced residents find temporary accommodations.

Most of the damage was contained to the suite where the fire started.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
