Martin Chidwick hopes to continue to bring Jesus to the front and center throughout the work of Union Gospel Mission.

The new Union Gospel Mission development manager is originally from Europe, but he decided to move to Winnipeg in 1990.

"Doors were closing in the previous industry I was in," says Chidwick.

Chidwick started as the development manager at Union Gospel Mission in downtown Winnipeg in early January.

He wants his work to bring glory to God and to be fully focused on Christ while representing Union Gospel mission and the seven ministries.

"I fell far from where I should have been in my walk with Him," Chidwick says about his younger years. "Gradually the Lord has put different circumstances, experiences, and people in my life which has ended up where I am at today."

"I'm not proud of my past; those days of overt hypocrisy," Chidwick says.

He has used his faith in God to grow as a Christian, drawing inspiration from the Psalms.

He is thankful for "the heart of Manitoba" and the support of Manitobans for the UGM.
