After careful consideration, the University of Manitoba says that they are continuing with the fall semester, but several changes are occurring.

Dr. Janice Ristock, Academic Vice-Presiden of the University of Manitoba (UM), says that going back to school in the fall will look different than usual due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

remote learning model will be used for the vast majority of students. The school says there will be some exceptions and will be extending the fall semester into January for "critical" in-person lessons.

UM is committing to a safe return for their students and will reopen the campus when they feel the time is right.

"We will ensure that our community’s health and safety are at the forefront of all of our decisions," Ristock says.

The school says that they will be helping their students find ways to successfully learn remotely and will stay in communication as changes are made.
