The Winnipeg Police Service says that a Friday-afternoon crash involved youth on a school bus.

At Logan Avenue and Stanley Street, in front of the Salvation Army, a school bus crashed into a hydro pole.

No other vehicles were involved.

Police say all of the students safely evacuated and are now being assessed by emergency crews.

Manitoba Hydro says 390 customers are affected by the crash, as it took down a pole.

"Everyone is safe. We have staff assessing the damage now," Hydro tweets.

There is no time estimate for power restoration.

Residents are being asked to avoid the area.
