A Winnipeg family is asking for help from a good samaritan to find their lost phone that contains precious memories of their deceased son.

Lynn and Dave were shopping after work at the Dollarama on Concordia Avenue on Friday, March 13 just before 5:00 p.m. When they returned home, they could not locate their cell phone.

"My husband had just taken a call from my daughter and I don't know what happened ... I don't know if it fell out of his pocket or if somebody grabbed it or if he put it down on the counter while he was cashing out, but it disappeared," says Lynn.

As soon as the couple realized their loss, Dave drove back to Dollarama to find it, but the phone was already gone.

The phone, a 32-gigabyte rose gold iPhone 5E, is not worth much in monetary value, but the contents on the phone are significantly important to the couple.

dical complications. His parents brought him to St. Amant to live as a resident when he was six-years-old, bringing him home to visit frequently for weekends and special occasions.

e, one that Tyler's doctor did not recommend.

Tyler was brought back to St. Amant for palliative care and died nine days later.

"It was no food, no water, which was really hard," says Lynn. "My husband and daughter traveled back and forth and I actually stayed at St. Amant with Tyler ... he always had somebody with him.

"It's one thing to lose a child, but to actually watch them die in front of your eyes is hard."

The day before Tyler's passing was when Lynn learned her phone had the ability to voice record.

"I taped a little bit of his breathing and his snoring and those were the recordings that were on the phone," Lynn says. "Tyler didn't actually communicate. He didn't talk, he didn't have a voice, it was just, he made sounds, he vocalized."

Lynn says it would mean the world to her to be able to get the recording of her son back.

"I can't reproduce that."

Lynn, Dave, and their daughter, Kaylyn, are asking for the return of the phone. They are also offering a reward for its safe return.

"It's not about the phone, it's about what's on the phone," says Lynn.

Anyone who may know where the phone is is asked to call Lynn at 204-224-5372.
