After winning two major awards at the AMAs Sunday night, Carrie Underwood's acceptance speech sounded like a prayer.

At the American Music Awards (AMA) Sunday night, Underwood took home awards in two categories: Favourite Female Artist - Country and Favourite Album - Country for her album, Cry Pretty.

In her acceptance, Underwood chose to give thanks to a higher power.

"Thank you God for the talents that you give people, the gifts that you give people," Underwood says, "not just the people that are up here on this stage tonight. For every single person, we all have gifts and thank you for that. We hope that we use them to make the world a better place."

Underwood and her husband, Mike Fisher, have previously spoken about the impact faith has had on their lives. Her song, "Jesus Take the Wheel," in addition to others, has been known to contain references to faith.
