Camille and Gabriel are a dynamic duo based in Montreal, QC, and they are releasing a bossa nova style rendition of the well-known hymn, 'How Great Thou Art.'

Camille and Gabriel are partners in music and in marriage. They have been releasing French and now English Christian music since 2021.

Their newest single is a rendition of 'How Great Thou Art.'

"We think the lyrics [of hymns] are deep and meaningful, and many hymns are beautifully written," says Camille. "They tell Biblical realities in a very poetic way. That's something we really admire. Hymns are the perfect combination of truth and beauty at the same time."

"Hymns made me realize personally that they are great ways to learn the Bible and its verses by heart, as they often quote Bible verses," says Gabriel. "Hymns are intergenerational and multicultural as they have a way to connect younger and older people together."

Although French is their first language and it's initially the language in which they have been releasing music, they are hoping to reach both English and French fans with their music.

"The last three songs we released were in English for a total of four songs in English," says Camille. "We have three in French at the moment. We're trying to create a balance of French and English songs."

Gabriel says that many French-speaking Canadians are used to listening to songs in English but the reverse isn't necessarily true.

Camille says, "We think that the fact that we're releasing both French and English is something that stands out and is also very representative of the city we live in, Montreal."

The island feel of this rendition is an ode to Gabriel's home country.

"I'm actually Brazillian," he says. "That's what gave the song the flavour it has. It was us trying to return to my roots, musically speaking. We decided to follow that inspiration."

As restrictions lift, the couple is hoping to go on tour, although there are no set dates yet.

"We will definitely be releasing new music in the next month," says Camille. "We hope our music will bring joy, peace, and hope to all of our listeners. As Christians, we hope that our music will be a spiritual blessing to all those that hear it."
