The Glory Boys are having a party everywhere they go. They were also just nominated for six Covenant Awards.

Tim Neufeld & the Glory Boys have played around 160 shows in Canada during their Hootenanny! tour, but they aren't done yet.

"We started this whole Tim & the Glory Boys thing with kind of one central goal, and that is to play everywhere in Canada that we could find 50 people," Neufeld said. "We have a blast every night."

If you've ever been to their Hootenanny, it's hard to not have fun. It's a great mix of worship, praise, laughter and downright silliness.

"Our desire is for people to come to our show and be surprised at how professional it is but also laugh, maybe even cry," Neufeld explained. "[That they can] exhale and allow the peace and the joy and the hope that makes up that relationship with God."

No song sums that feeling up that silliness more than Overhead Projector, which was nominated for Song of the Year.

"I was most pleased with that one being included in the nomination," Neufeld laughed. "Honestly, that made me happier than getting any award ever.

"I feel like my work is done."

Neufeld feels like people connect with the group because they don't take themselves too seriously.

"We feel like we fluked into all this success and we're trying to stick to enjoying this journey," he confessed. "I love that I'm answering questions about this stupid song."

The group has also put together some incredible worship songs, including Recorded Song of the Year nominee May Thy Will. The song talks about their desire to see God's will done on Earth, regardless of what that means for them personally.

Neufeld is particularly proud of that song. He says that Christian songs often resolve. But Neufeld says the songs that have always resonated with him are the ones that don't.

"People get cancer, get prayed for, aren't healed, death happens prematurely . . . there is so much in our lives that is unresolved," he explained. "We believe all these things happen for a reason but at the end of the day, there isn't a lot of outlet to say that even if you don't heal this person, I will still believe."

The lyrics in the second verse suggest this, saying, "I know You're able to rescue me. But even if You don't I'll still believe." It's the reason Neufeld and the Glory Boys have tried to make things fun at their concerts and on their album. Sometimes you need to laugh.

Neufeld is incredibly grateful for the nominations.

"It feels like we've been working really hard and it's a nice nod," he said.
