Girls in high school looking to play flag football now have an outlet to do exactly that.

This week the Winnipeg Football Club launched the new High School Girls Flag Football League.

This new league will allow high school girls to showcase their athletic talents, learn new skills, and experience the thrill of flag football in an inclusive environment,” said Wade Miller, WFC President & CEO in a statement on the Bombers website.

Over 200 girls have signed up to participate, making up 19 teams. Throughout the six-week season, the girls will play close to 90 games at the Winnipeg Soccer Federation South Field and the St. Vital Mustangs Field.

The games will take place every Tuesday and Wednesday from April 2 to May 8.
