The Winnipeg Blue Bombers and Valour FC's home will have a change next season with a brand-new name.

After a ten-year naming rights agreement was signed, IG Field will be renamed Princess Auto Stadium on April 2.

The rebranding of the stadium, such as new signage outside and putting the company logo at center field of the new turf will kick off in the spring ahead of the start of the Canadian Football League and Canadian Premier League seasons.

Winnipeg Football Club President and CEO, Wade Miller shared, “This is another step in the long-term relationship we’ve already had with Princess Auto. The company has been a huge sponsor of the club over the years; they’ve ran ticket promotions with their staff that began in the 1990s. Now we’re thrilled to have them involved even further on game days and through other events we’re planning for the stadium.”

Since the stadium opened in 2013, IG Wealth Management has been the original naming rights partner, first as Investors Group Field and then transitioning to IG Field.

With 54 stores across the country, Princess Auto CEO, Ken Larson is excited for this step.

“This is a huge deal for our company! Number one, we’re proud to be Winnipeggers, Manitobans, and Canadians and you don’t get much bigger or much more Canadian than the Blue Bombers and the CFL," Larson shared in the release.

"We view the stadium as a hub in the community where people come together to cheer on the Blue Bombers – Winnipeggers, Manitobans from all walks of life who are football fans. We view this as our little way to help out in going down this path,” he continued.

Training camp opens up for the Blue Bombers in May with their home preseason game on May 31 against the Calgary Stampeders.

While Valour FC's home opener is June 2 against Vancouver FC.
