Christians are renewing their prayer lives during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Local representative of 24/7 Prayer Canada, Shira Gamey, says that this is a time to think creatively about how we can combine prayer and service.

"Change is never easy, but it can be a catalyst for creative thinking. When business as usual is disrupted it gives us the opportunity to invite God's wisdom into doing things differently."

24/7 Prayer was started twenty years ago when Pete Grieg visited Herrnhut Germany. While there, he was introduced to the story of Moravians who maintained a continuous prayer meeting that lasted over one hundred years. He brought the idea back home to the UK. From there, it has become a global movement.

24/7 offers a video prayer course that is available for churches as well as books and other learning resources. More recently though, she says that their ministry seeks to support church leaders.

Gospel to our neighbours.

“Our heart is to walk with people and inspire people to pray and walk in justice.”
