Early this morning a member of the Canine Unit identified a stolen truck driving in the Selkirk Avenue and Sinclair Street area.

The truck had been reported as stolen to the Winnipeg Police Service.

Officers noticed the truck and attempted to pull it over, but the truck fled at high speeds.

The A1 helicopter was dispatched, following the truck to the Winnipeg International Airport area.

Once police arrived and detained the suspect, they discovered he had a Canada Wide Warrant for Apprehension and suspension of Parole/Statutory release.

The 25-year-old Winnipeg man was charged with Unlawfully at Large, Possession of Property Obtained by crime over $5000, Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000, and Operation of a conveyance while prohibited.
