A local man says he was bothered by the "crazy amount of garbage" along the Seine River in St. Boniface and organized a cleanup event, cleaning 300 metres of the riverbank.

Nic Audette says he went for a bike ride along the Seine River and was bothered by all of the trash around. Once he arrived home, Audette took to Facebook, creating an event with 40 of his friends to clean up the mess.

A couple of weeks after the initial bike ride, Audette and his friends took to the Seine River Parkway to clean.

"All it took was one Facebook event and a dozen texts. Asked everyone to bring their own gloves and garbage bags, Cost 0$ to organize," he tweets.
