An RCMP officer who was shot Wednesday evening in western Manitoba is reported to be in stable condition.
The RCMP says that Cpl. Graeme Kingdon is the officer that was wounded. He was responding to a reported break-in near the community of Onanole, Manitoba with his partner when he was shot.
He is now recovering in a Winnipeg hospital.
Kingdon is married with two young children.
RCMP Assistant commissioner Scott Kolody says that the events have shaken both Kingdon's family, and his larger RCMP family.
“The RCMP is truly a large family and what has unfolded over the last few hours truly affects every officer and employee from coast to coast. I know it touches many Canadians as well."
The RCMP were able to arrest all four suspects in the case. The fourth arrest occurred in Neepawa, Man. after an hours-long standoff at a residence.
