Youth For Christ (YFC) Winnipeg's long-time executive director, John Courtney, will be recognized this spring for decades of dedicated leadership.

Courtney came to YFC in 1973 as the director of their high school ministry, Campus Life.

Four years later, in April of 1977, he was named YFC's executive director.

He'll accept the Entrepreneurial Leaders Award at the ELO Forum & Awards Gala on April 30th, 2019 in Winnipeg.

“John is a great selection as he has worked tirelessly for YFC and will be completing 47 years of service in June 2019," Dr. Richard (Rick) J. Goossen, Chairman of the Entrepreneurial Leaders Organization said.

"During his time YFC has grown to have the largest facility of any YFC in North America. John has spent a lifetime putting the needs of other first.”

The ELO Entrepreneurial Leaders Award recognizes the track record of a person(s) who can serve as an inspiration to others to pursue Christian entrepreneurial leadership.

Goossen says that Courtney more than meets the criteria for a nominee.

"John has acted in an entrepreneurial manner, regularly innovating in order to serve the needs of the community more effectively through various programs and facilities."
