The Winnipeg Police Service (WPS) says that a 10-year-old girl was chased by an adult male while on her way to school.

The WPS is asking for assistance after the incident which they say occurred Tuesday morning around 8:15 on Harvard Ave. near Winona St.

Police said in a release that the girl began to ran and the male yelled for her to stop. She continued to run, however, and reached safety at a nearby residence of a relative.

The WPS says that the girl was not harmed.

Police patrolled the area but did not locate the suspect.

The suspect is described as an adult male, between 5’7” to 5’10” in height.

He appeared to be in his 50s, with a skinny build, beard stubble, with olive coloured skin and short black hair.

He was wearing a dark coloured hoody with the hood pulled up, grey-black work gloves, and dark pants.

Anyone with information that could assist investigators in identifying this male is asked to call (204) 986-6219 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
