Two citizens of Mexico are in custody after a drug investigation led Winnipeg police to seize over 1.3 million dollars worth of meth and fentanyl last month.

On Oct. 19, the Guns & Gangs Unit executed a search warrant in the 100 block of James Avenue, where they located and seized over 1.3 million dollars worth of methamphetamine and fentanyl, a loaded handgun, $50,000 in Canadian currency and $450,000 in counterfeit currency.  

Two people, a 27-year-old female and a 27-year-old male, both from Mexico, were arrested and face a long list of weapons and drug trafficking charges. 

They remain in custody.
