PARTS OF MANITOBA WARNED OF POSSIBLE EVACUATION DUE TO FLOODING

Manitoba Transportation and infrastructure urged places in southern and central Manitoba to take precautions as flooding conditions were expected to worsen as up to 80 mm of precipitation was expected in the coming days in some areas.

At the time, 39 states of local emergencies were declared, and the government was working with Indigenous Services Canada (ISC) to make sure that First Nation communities also received the support needed for the flooding.

The Manitoba Government also reminded households to have a 72-hour emergency kit in case emergencies are declared.
