Two people, including a 15-year-old girl, were arrested following a carjacking Tuesday evening in the Tuxedo industrial area.

Shortly after 5 p.m., Winnipeg police say two suspects approached a vehicle in a parking lot in the 700 block of Sterling Lyon Parkway and pulled a 52-year-old woman from the vehicle before physically assaulting her.

When officers arrived, they found an adult female suspect attempting to flee from the parking lot and placed her under arrest.

After investigating the incident, officers learned that shortly before this incident, both suspects approached a 77-year-old man getting into his vehicle in a nearby parking lot located in the same block.  One of the suspects assaulted the man while attempting to rob him of his belongings and his vehicle.

Both victims suffered minor injuries.

Investigators identified a female youth as the second suspect and, on Wednesday, arrested her in the 1700 block of Taylor Avenue without incident.

A 32-year-old woman and a 15-year-old female youth, both from Winnipeg, are facing two charges of Robbery each and were released on Undertakings as mandated by the criminal code.
