Emergency Social Services are aiding the residents of a West End home after a fire.

A two-storey house in the 400 block of Arlington Street was reported to the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) as a fire emergency. Arriving at 9:35 p.m, crews discovered smoke pouring out of the home.

The home's eight occupants had already evacuated before crews arrived.

Launching an offensive attack, WFPS controlled the fire by 9:52 p.m.

Emergency Social Services were called, aiding the home's eight occupants. The occupants were assisted in finding temporary accommodations.

Fire crews believe the fire was accidental and have not shared the cause of the fire.

WFPS does not have a damage estimate available at this time.
