American Idol is preparing to honour one of their former contestants following her sudden death last week.
Mandisa, who appeared on season five of the show, in 2005, was found dead in her Nashville home on Thursday, April 18.
American Idol announced they will host a special musical tribute to celebrate her life on Monday, April 29.
"She was an inspiration to her time here on the show and beyond," said host Ryan Seacrest. "Our hearts go out to her family and all of those, like us, who call her friend."
Meanwhile, a celebration of life has been planned for Mandisa for April 27 in Brentwood Tennessee. The service will be live streamed for fans and those unable to attend.
The cause of her death remains unknown at this time. However, police in Franklin, Tennesse say foul play is not suspected.
