According to Environment Canada, you can expect to have a slightly above average week. Just what we need to hear on a Monday!

"We've got slightly above normal temperatures [this week]," Natalie Hasell said. Hasell is a Warning Preparedness Meteorologist from Environment Canada.

The sun should shine for most of the week, but Wednesday and Saturday both hold a chance of rain, and Hasell says "anywhere where we see a chance of showers could, at this time of year, mean thunderstorms."

Hasell says it's hard to precisely predict these thunderstorms, since a number of factors go into their development.

"One of [the factors] is a trigger, so something has to start the vertical motion," "While daytime heating is part of it, a lot of it is low pressure systems, troughs . . . we can tell we will have a number of systems go through southern Manitoba this week.

"Exactly what is hard to see right now, but we should be able to see more starting tomorrow for Wednesday's storm."

Hasell doesn't expect the humidity that is sticking around today to last past tomorrow, as the system moves out.
